'I was born a little hippy kid running naked at festivals so I've seen a few, but the Lake of Stars is far and beyond the most beautiful setting for a party as well as the wickedest mixture of people and music I've ever seen.... blaaaoooowww!!'
- Skitz, BBC Radio 1/1Xtra

'Lake of Stars was without doubt one of the most memorable shows I've ever played. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone up for an adventure and a laugh'
- DJ Yoda

Language:
English and Chichewa are Malawi's two main languages. Strictly English is the "official" language and Chichewa is the "national" language. Chi (language of) Chewa (the Chewa people).

Other languages are of the Tumbuka (common in the north) and Yao (south) English is widely understood, some words, when pronounced, are almost the same in Chichewa and English: e.g. ti/tea; khofi/coffee.

A full introductory course (book & audio-CD) in Chichewa, called "Tiyeni! Chichewa Course for Newcomers to Malawi", is available from www.malawitourism.com and www.africabookcentre.com.
